Police are still investigating after a 43-year-old woman was found dead in a home in Springville on Wednesday night.
A 14-year-old girl was injured and a 23-year-old man taken to the hospital as well, police stated in a press release.
Officers were called to the home at 944 S. 1000 East on a report of a domestic incident and shots fired inside the house. Police forced their way inside where they located the teenage girl.
'The 14-year-old girl was secured and was later transported to the hospital for injuries sustained while taking her into custody,' according to the police department.
The man, 23-year-old Michael Lopez, had barricaded himself in the bathroom and was taken into custody after a short standoff, police stated. He was reportedly 'in and out of consciousness' when officers detained him, so he was taken to Utah Valley Hospital for treatment.
Victoria Ramirez, 43, was found dead inside the home 'from an apparent gun shot,' according to police.
Detectives are in the early stages of their investigation, police said, and no other information was given Wednesday night.
